Nature Adventures Camp Groups

Our exciting nature-based camp themes emphasize fun, hands-on experiences for campers to discover the natural world around them through age-appropriate activities. Campers at each age level develop skills and knowledge which encourage confidence, cooperation, curiosity, and compassion for the natural world.  

  • Half-Day camps for younger campers, Ages 3 through 5
  • Full-Day options for campers entering Grades K through 8

Tadpoles - Age 3 (must be toilet trained)

Raccoons & Owls - Entering Grades K-1 (must be age 5 by start of camp week)

Campers learn about their world through up-close animal encounters, exploring fields, woods and a pond, with age-appropriate, hands-on activities, crafts, and games -- building self-confidence and new friendships. Groups meet at picnic tables under a pavilion or tent in Astro Field, offering plenty of space to run and start the day’s explorations.

Otters & Coyotes - Entering Grades 2-6

Otters and Coyotes investigate nature and science-based themes through hands-on curriculum including live animal encounters, nature hikes, learning to canoe on Jacobs Pond, and participation in citizen science projects. Coyotes dive deeper into topics, learning through the use of scientific tools and technology, field trips, and guest appearances. Teams work together towards a common goal, building confidence for all. Groups meet at picnic tables under an event tent in Astro Field, offering plenty of space to play and start the day's explorations. 

1-week sessions
Otters: Entering Grades 2-3 (must be age 7 by start of camp week)
Coyotes: Entering Grades 4 - 6
Monday-Friday, Full-Day 9:00am-3:30pm

Specialty Camps - Entering Grades 2-8

Designed for campers looking to focus on a specific area, in-depth experiences in nature, or building upon current STEM passions. Led by partner organizations and SSNSC naturalists, campers participate in team-building through hands-on explorations and STEM activities. Some specialty camps take place onsite while others involve field trips.
