Calling All Scouts: Earn Your Sustainability Merit Badge!

In partnership with the Mayflower Council, join Merit Badge Counselors at the South Shore YMCA Nature Center for an exciting opportunity to earn your Sustainability Badge, an essential requirement for achieving the Eagle Scout rank!

This program is designed to help you understand the concept of sustainability— meeting our needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. We’ll explore what sustainability means in everyday life around our homes, schools, and businesses and discover practical ways we can all live greener. You’ll learn how small changes can make a big impact and discuss how you can share this knowledge through your Scouting, proving that sustainability is not just important but also easy!

After earning your badge, to fulfill the service hour requirements, we’ll engage in hands-on service projects around the South Shore YMCA Nature Center. These projects will help enhance our natural environment while giving you the chance to put your newfound sustainability knowledge into action.
