Have you ever wondered what it would be like to excavate a real shipwreck site? Four of our naturalists (here, Louise and Jessica), two Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary volunteers and the Stellwagen Bank Volunteer Coordinator came together in the boathouse of the sanctuary’s headquarters in Scituate to help paint a ginormous canvas shipwreck map. This map is going to be part of a shipwreck curriculum kit that Stellwagen Bank is generously giving to the Science Center, part of the completion of the Save America’s Treasures grant they received this year.

So, if you ever dreamed of becoming a maritime archaeologist, get ready for this nautical fun coming to the Science Center very soon! And teachers – it will travel in Flora II to schools as well.
