Apparently a Cooper’s Hawk has adopted our woods as its stomping grounds, based on its increasingly frequent visits to a site outside our office windows. In this case we were able to sneak within fifteen feet to get some pics as it feasted upon…well, we’re not sure of the species, but “Coop’s” like small birds, exactly the kinds that you find at a backyard feeder. For now, we’ll skip the gory details.
