The South Shore YMCA is proud of our Early Learning Center Preschoolers who graduate from the program this month and will head off to elementary school in the fall. Our three preschool programs – SSYMCA State Street Early Learning Center in Quincy, SSYMCA Nature Center Preschool in Norwell, and SSYMCA Early Learning Center in Hanover – held special moving up ceremonies for these young graduates and their loved ones to attend.
Y preschool programs are licensed, full-day or half-day programs that provide a rich curriculum and loving environment to help every child learn, grow and thrive. The YMCA believes in a strong community connection where all students can engage in enrichment programs, including water safety instruction, physical activity, outdoor play and exploration.
Over 600 families turn to our Y early learning centers for preschool programs and childcare each year. It is our priority to provide quality, affordable care to every child in our community who needs it. In 2023, we were able to provide over $168,000 in financial assistance and scholarships to those unable to qualify for state subsidies, funded by the generosity of our donors and members through our SSYMCA Annual Campaign.
This fall, we are proud to open a new Nature Center Preschool building to serve the growing needs of this program, dedicated to expanding environmental education for young learners. Learn more about the new era of our nature center at southshorenaturalsciencecenter.org/announcements/newera.
