Vision & Mission

The South Shore YMCA is embarking on an ambitious and vital project: the construction of a standalone, state-of-the-art Nature Center Preschool building at our South Shore YMCA Natural Science Center in Norwell. This facility will provide a unique, nature-based early childhood education experience, fostering a love of learning, environmental stewardship, and healthy living from an early age.

Why build a new Nature Center Preschool building?

As the South Shore continues to grow, so does the need for quality preschool education and facilities that serve the growing needs. Concurrently, the need for environmental awareness and responsibility in young children is on the rise. The Nature Center Preschool provides both, while also encouraging outdoor play and physical activity that are crucial in combating childhood obesity and promoting overall health and well-being. The new building will include classrooms that are bright and spacious with direct outdoor access, integrating indoor and outdoor learning.
